If you’re new to owning a firearm for the first time, it can feel overwhelming—especially if you never expected to be in that position.
For many people today, the decision to become a gun owner isn’t rooted in hobby or tradition. It’s driven by a desire for personal safety, uncertainty about the world around them, or a responsibility to protect themselves and the people they care about. If you’ve found yourself here, you’re not alone—and you’re not out of place.
This training program is built specifically for new and non-traditional firearm owners. There are no assumptions, no politics, and no judgment. Whether you’ve never touched a firearm before or feel uncomfortable in typical gun culture spaces, this is a place where you can learn at your own pace, ask questions freely, and build real competence.

You’ll learn from a USCCA certified firearm instructor how to safely handle, store, and operate a handgun, along with the foundational skills needed for accuracy, confidence, and responsible ownership. Every personal lesson is structured to reduce anxiety, eliminate confusion, and replace uncertainty with clarity.
Lessons can be provided in a classroom setting or a range environment or both (recommended). There is also the option to use a virtual simulator using a realistic handgun firing an infrared laser at simulated targets in various scenarios (including zombies!).
You’ll also learn about some of the legal aspects unique to gun ownership, use of a gun in personal defense and ways to protect yourself legally in the aftermath of an encounter.
This is not about ideology. It’s about safety, responsibility, and giving you the tools to make informed decisions.
